Cameron and Michelle made the move to the Whitsundays in 2010, drawn by a love for the lifestyle and a belief in the region’s potential. What started as a simple idea – to provide reliable, friendly transport for locals and visitors, has grown into Heart of Reef Shuttles Whitsundays, a family-built business where everyone pitches in. With support from locals and family members working alongside them, they’ve created a service that’s as much about people as it is about getting from A to B.

As passionate advocates for the Whitsundays, we’re more than a shuttle service – we’re committed members of this community. Our friendly service reflects the spirit of Airlie Beach. It’s this genuine care that’s earned us recognition as the Gold winners of the 2025 and Bronze winners of the 2022 and 2024 Whitsunday Tourism Awards in the Tour and Transport Operator category, along with two consecutive “Best of QLD Experience” badges.

We believe in protecting the place we call home. We have a sustainability accreditation through QTEC for Eco Tourism and we are members in the Whitsundays Healthy Heart Project – a regional initiative to reduce carbon emissions and work towards sustainable destination certification at large.

Through this program, we’re measuring and improving our environmental footprint and aligning with a broader regional commitment to preserving the Great Barrier Reef and surrounding natural environments for future generations.

Alongside the numbers, she plays a big role in nurturing tourism partnerships and ensuring the business continues to grow sustainably. Michelle’s passion for the Whitsundays and its community shines through in everything she does.

Cameron is the driving force behind Heart of Reef Shuttles, steering the business both strategically and day-to-day. From building on tourism opportunities to working closely with local suppliers, he’s hands-on at every level of operations. With a focus on growth and collaboration, Cameron is passionate about strengthening the Whitsundays region while continuing to expand the business from every angle.

James Johnstone

General Manager

James is our go-to problem solver, ensuring the day-to-day runs like clockwork. From managing drivers to coordinating schedules, he keeps everything moving seamlessly behind the scenes. You’ll often find him on the reservations phones too, making sure guests are looked after from the first enquiry to the final drop-off. With his calm approach, James is the steady hand that keeps our operations on track and our guests smiling.

Office Manager

Danielle is the master of reservations and the heartbeat of our office. She coordinates bookings with precision, supports the team day to day, and makes sure every guest journey starts smoothly. With her friendly nature and sharp eye for detail, Danielle keeps everything humming behind the scenes and helps us all stay sane around the office.
